Course Description
This course introduces the basic concepts and tools of analysis in public economics. It discusses the role of the public sector and discusses concepts such as state intervention, market failures, and the distribution of goods. It also covers taxation and the generation of wealth, government expenditures, fiscal balance, and deficit financing. It will cover intergovernmental fiscal relations and decentralization. It will also cover the role of the private sector in the provision of public goods.
