Item Restricted Pregnancy outcomes: the effects of education in the survival of potential live births and why contraception plays a role too(2011-04) Cruz, Jazzle Eve Limon; Tabuñar, Dhan Camille Joven; Solon, Jose Orville C.Socioeconomic and demographic factors that increase the chances of survival of potential live births have not been examined closely. This study investigated the pregnancy outcome of 8,399 women who were at least become pregnant using the 2008 National Demographic and Health Survey. The authors employed the Two- Stage Least Squares method in estimating the determinants of pregnancy outcome in the study population. Result showed that maternal education and contraception have significantly increased the number of live births among total pregnancies. However, completion of an educational level has higher positive effect on pregnancy outcome than to a relatively higher but unfinished educational level.
