Multiple class shifting system and education outcome: the Philippine case
(2009-10) Dayag, Florian Kim; Austria, Audrey Joy; Arcenas, Agustin
Concerns regarding the current condition of education in the country are presented every year when classes start. Included are criticisms regarding the growing trend of schools conducting multi-shifting of classes despite the lack of study about this class system in the Philippine context. This paper tries to equate the type of class shift in the general education production function to determine its impact to education outcome and relationship with other inputs. Using regression analysis, the paper agrees with literature that the type of class shift is not a good measure of efficiency in the education system because of its inability to determine student performance and outcome.
