Item Restricted Do happy people drink more? an econometric analysis(2010-04-07) Marzo, Miguel Gonzalo A.Many people, Filipinos included, often drink alcoholic beverages as part of celebrations. Others, however, tum to alcohol when they are sad or depressed. What really drives people to partake of these of these types of drinks? Is it because they feel good and are using alcohol as a way to enhance the happy feeling? Or is it because they are feeling down and resort to alcohol simply as a way to momentarily drown their sorrows? Does happiness belong anywhere in the equation at all? This study attempts to establish whether or not there is a statistical link between people's general level of happiness and the level of alcohol that they consume, taking several other factors into account and holding them equal.
