The differences differences in these factors lead to a disparity in academic performance among students which has a large bearing on their What careers. What Is this disparity? Is it the time a student devotes to studying, or is it because of facilities and resources available to a student, or is it simply all a matter of An or a self-fulfilling prophecy? An econometric evaluatioQ. Of the effects of the different Students of academic performance was undertaken. University from five Philippines, Diliman of the University of the Philippines, Diliman were interviewed for the study. A total of forty-eight variables Overall General Weighted Average as explanatory variables while the Overall General Weighted Average (GWA) as of last semester of academic year 2010-2011 was used as the dependent variable. These explanatory variables consisted of demographics, time management, and satisfaction ratings on school and teaching resour~es, home, and student's self- evaluation and amount of time spent in academic and non-academic activities. The study finds that the amount of time a student spends studying outside class hours, the time he spends on extra-curricular activities, and even the Rather, spent for family bonding and household chores seem to have little to do with academic performance. Rather, the study suggests statistical evidence showing the significance of type of high school a student graduated from, his/her high school average, and how he/she perceives him/herself in explaining (in variations in academic performance among students, at least from the five UP college8. Noteworthy is that a student's favorable self-perception (in terms of doing his/her best) seems to be a~ important positive predictor of one's academic performance.
