In this paper we test whether there is a relationship between the acquittal court ruling and the annual income salary grade of the defendant who is a public official. The motivation behind focusing on public officials is the information such as position, annual salary, area of residence, age, and etc. can be easily obtained than the private officials information. The cases that will be delved in are graft and corruption and malversation of funds. These are cases which requires the defendant to disclose his/her net worth or annual salary which will be the primary basis to determine if there exist a relationship between court ruling and the public official’s ranking. Researchers’ main hypothesis is that there’s a positive relationship between the acquittal court ruling and the annual income salary grade. However, results of this study debunked the claim of the researchers.
