Item Restricted Addressing household vulnerability to climate change: identifying factors affecting residential location choices in flood-hazard zones(2010-04) Rivera, Theresa C.; Yu, James Byron P.; Balisacan, Arsenio M.Researchers in this study look at theories on residential location choice to determine and analyze factors that affect where a household chooses to locate.. In the City of Marikina, where the study is conducted, two comparable locations are chosen, one is a flood-hazard zone and one is a non-flood-hazard zone. With original data gathered, the focus of the research is to determine those factors that affect a household's vulnerability to greater and more severe incidences of flooding caused by climate change. The research uses a probit model with data gathered consisting of household characteristics, local characteristics, and information-related characteristics. The purpose of this study is to establish factors that may be targeted by improved policy by the country's adaptation efforts concerning climate change
