| dc.description.abstract | This study looks at why most schools have displayed poor performance in the recent nursing licensure examinations. even when they are compliant to the minimum standards set by the Commission on Higher Education. Both the principal-agent framework and the standard form of the education production function are employed in the analysis. The study finds that the low passing rates of most schools can be explained by the interaction of the effects of the principal-agent problem. weak governance. and the existing perverse incentive structure. | |
