Abstract

This study aims to determine if an inflation-targeting (IT) framework is effective in the case of the Philippines, comparing the adoption to previous approaches in monetary policy. The results show that the adoption of an IT framework has helped the Philippines keep output and exchange rates monitored. However, there is insufficient evidence that it is effectively targeting inflation.
