Item Restricted An economic analysis of prostitution in the Philippines(2006-10) Lanting, Maria Corazon L.; Tecson, GwendolynThis paper seeks to analyze in economic perspective the incidence of prostitution in the Philippines, apart from the usual view of sociology and psychology. The determinants of prostitution include differential returns and family size. The results are robust as it confirms the theoretical prediction that the supply of prostitutes positively responds with increase in differential returns. Likewise, the burden of large family size also greatly affects the supply of prostitutes.
