This paper deals with the question of the full-cost of education iin the secondary level, its determinants and its implications on the cost structure of the educational system. The findings show that full costs and its components may influence the educational attainment. The findings also show varying levels in the full costs per school but revealing biases of certain schools for certain income levels resulting in a limiting of educational opportunities.

There had been quite a widespread of junkshop in Quezon City. This apparent increase in the number of junkshop yearly had been attributed to the said profitability of this business. The researchers intend to give a basic understanding of junkshops as a business. This study aims to give a description of the factors that affect junkshop' s profitability. Having learned about these, the differences in the profitability of junkshops in Payatas are analyzed vis a vis the profitability of those in Non-Payatas area. This study deals with: the 30 junkshops in Quezon City, equally divided into junkshops in Payatas and in Non-Payatas. Data have been gathered through guided interviews with the owner/ manager of the junkshop. Different variables derived from the collected data have been passed through multiple linear regressions using ordinary least square (OLS). Regardless of location, the variables frequency of delivery, weekly capital, and years of operation are found to be significant in the profitability of junkshops. In separate regressions, frequency of delivery is found to be positively significant to those in Non-Payatas, but it has negative effect to those in Payatas. Both the years of operation and years of schooling are shown to be positively significance to those in Non-Payatas, however both insignificant to those in Payatas. Number of workers is learned to be negatively significant to those in Payatas, yet insignificant to those in Non-Payatas. On the other hand, starting capital is found to be insignificant in all cases-in general model and in separate models for junk:shops in Payatas and Non-Payatas. Generally, this study revealed that junkshops in Payatas are more profitable than those in Non-Payatas. Through this study, the researchers realized that there are other aspects of junkshops that is noteworthy to be paid attention to. Future researchers can study the effect of government intervention to this industry, the pricing system that rules this business as well as the uncertainties it propels in the business.
