In this paper, the EATR and the EMTR of each country will be calculated using the model developed by Devereux and Griffith, and compared with one another to identify and rank which country is more tax-wise competitive in business and investments (whether domestic or foreign). This paper also includes simulations of different tax policies in the Philippines and a study on which compete with Thailand, Malaysia, Indonesia, and Vietnam in investments.Item Restricted Effect of the Philippine dealing and exchange corporation on Rural Bank Investment in bonds(2011-01) Campos, Jerome Sidney R.; Herrera, Kevin Mitchell B.; Pernia, Ernesto M.The Philippine Dealing and Exchange Corporation (PDEx) began operating as the country's sole trading platform for fixed income securities in the second quarter of 2005. The objective of this study is to investigate the effects of the PDEx on the bond holdings of rural banks. The study uses a linear regression with data before and after the establishment of PDEx (2000-2010). It then uses a chow test to test if the establishment of PDEx caused a change in the bond holding behavior of rural banks.
