Looking at the most accurate panel data from as early as 1948 to the most recent of the year 2000, the Philippine's economic history was re-created with real data in order for us to look more closely at popular observations and assertions about our past that inhere in our society. This was done to answer the following questions: Does time sampling create a more subjective perspective of Economic History and Development? Are the prevalent methods of reporting the growth of the Philippine economy, particularly in choosing time ranges, creating a colored perspective of events of the past? Many views on history are based on the behavior of major economic indicators in particular periods of increasing economic activity, which can be quite prone to distortion. We regressed said variables and tested if selected historic statements hold water in expanded ranges of time. Our study shows that a bias can exist with certain time samples, particularly those that are focused on political events as well as popular social sentiment. The time range can cause certain variables to be irrelevant and for certain singular events to be deemed immaterial or to seem overtly impressive, depending on how time is expanded or contracted. Moreover, these observations were done using regression analysis, which in fact has less room for misinterpretation than simple trend analysis, which historians are more popularly inclined to use. The implications of this lend towards future attempts at recounting economic history as well as the study and the use of past analysis for present decision-making.
