This paper explores economic models that explain the factors affecting drug abuse and crime incidence using provincial data. We use three combined dataset sources (FIES, SWS, and PSA) to analyze the determinants of drug abuse in a specified province. Equally important, we examine the effect of drug abuse on crime in another model. We find interesting evidence to support a relationship between drug abuse and income, labor force participation, and poverty while education seems to have a positive effect. We also find that enforcement and unemployment on drug abuse seem to have no significant effects.
