This study tries to explain the existence of jobless growth in the Philippines by looking through the dynamics of employment. The Auto-regressive Distributive Lag Model Bounds Test Approach to Co-integration was used to process time series data on employment. Classification of worker employment was adopted in order to explain the dynamics of employment given changes in output. The study shows that Gross Domestic Product has a weak relationship with both employment and unemployment. In the short run, own account workers decrease when GDP increases whereas wage and salary workers increase. The opposite can be observed in the long run.
