Abstract

This paper has two goals. First, this paper will establish another link between group theory and graph theory. We will investigate new graphs associated with groups: the G-graphs. We will present some of their properties and show that some characteristics of a group can be seen on its associated G-graph. We will establish a group isomorphism given a group isomorphism. We will also show that some existing graphs are G-graphs and provide a group associated with them. A relation between Cayley graphs and G-graphs is also introduced. Second, this paper will attempt to link group theory and G-graphs to consumer theory. Some of the classical axioms on consumer preferences will be relaxed and new concepts will be introduced. These new concepts along with group-theorerical methods and the concept of G-graphs will prove theorems on consumer preferences.
