| dc.description.abstract | This paper evaluates whether tuition fee increases in the years 2000-2005 significantly affected the freshmen enrollment rate in selected thirty private colleges and universities in the National Capital Region. The sample was selected based on their accreditation status. The authors used multiple linear regression in evaluating the data. Based on the empirical results of this study, tuition fee increases in the said schools caused significant changes in the freshman enrollment rates. With the presence of tuition fee increases, there is a corresponding decrease in the number of freshman enrollees. The study hopes to inform the public of the actual behavior exhibited by enrollment rates and tuition. Now more than ever, the authorities concerned will have to take the said relationship into consideration as they implement rules to the ever-growing number of higher educational institutions in the country. | |
