dc.description.abstract | The Metro Rail Transit Corporation has been in operations for more than a decade, yet the goal of having it fully transferred to the government has not yet been achieved due to the lack of profits that it generates from its low-fare ticketing scheme. The researchers, therefore, aim to find solutions to this problem by analyzing the historical and current pricing strategy of MRT -3. After a series of analysis by making use of Public Sector and Urban Economics tools and concepts, together with regression analysis, the researchers recommend average-cost pricing, one-ticketing system, and government buy-out of the rail system to cover up the loss that the rail system currently experiences. | |
