This study aims to provide empirical evidence of the effects of socioeconomic variables of UP students' academic performance. It econometrically analyzes the relationship between different socioeconomic variables and the cumulative weighted average of the 187 UP students. The findings suggest that the socioeconomic factors related with the students' high school background, such as their high school location, and environment influence in learning outside the school such as the housing type and part-time employment, interact together in order to explain the variation in UP students' academic performance.
