Abstract

This thesis attempts to explain price discrimination of pharmaceutical products in Asia, particularly India, Thailand, Malaysia and the Philippines by looking into the market structure of the industry using the structure-conduct-performance paradigm. This thesis will explore the firm's degree of market power and the effort of the industry and the government to prevent arbitrage. The thesis would also look into the differences between the selected countries' pharmaceutical industry.
